Importing Fused Silica into Europe, the United States and Brazil

Import conditions depend on the destination, the Incoterm and the documents your forwarder requires. This note does not give a customs classification, a duty rate or a clearance procedure. Those points stay with your forwarder or broker.

Name the destination

Europe, the United States and Brazil are destinations the company already discusses with buyers. Name the country and the delivery place as well. Buyers can read the packing and shipping notes for packing and shipping points to align with that place.

Incoterm and documents

If you have an Incoterm, write it on the enquiry. List the documents you expect, such as a commercial invoice, a packing list and a COA, when your forwarder asks for them. Put the destination and that document list on the written enquiry so the offer can be checked against them.

Local import conditions

Confirm local import conditions with a forwarder who handles that destination. The supplier can review the destination and the documents requested on the order. The supplier does not take the forwarder's place. Buyers can send the destination with those questions through the contact page.

Keep the lot papers with the specification

Ask for the COA of the quoted lot and compare it with the specification your own quality team will use. Grade, particle size and packing should appear on the same offer as the destination. A destination discussion is not a freight price and not a transit time.
