How to Request a Fused Silica Quotation

A quotation request is shorter when the plant already knows the specification. Send a checklist rather than a general introduction. The supplier needs the form, the grade, the size, the chemistry limits, the quantity, the packing, the destination and the Incoterm if you already know it.

Form, grade and size

State whether you need sand, grain or powder. Name A Grade or B Grade. Give the mesh or the millimetre band. Example meshes include 4×10, 10×20, 20×50, 50×100, 100F, 140F, 200, 200F and 325F. Example millimetre bands include 0-1, 1-3, 3-5 and 0.5-1. Use the size names when they match your sieve sheet. A custom size is a request, and availability is confirmed per order.

Chemistry limits you already use

Write the SiO2 minimum and the impurity limits the process already uses. If the purchase follows typical A Grade chemistry, point to typical A Grade chemistry and then state any tighter limit the plant adds. The quotation should say that the figures for the lot are confirmed on the COA.

Quantity, packing and destination

Give the quantity in kilograms. Choose 25 kg bags, 25 kg bags on pallets, or jumbo bags of 1000 kg or 1250 kg, subject to the order. Name the destination in Europe, the United States, Brazil or another country on your shipping plan. Add the Incoterm if it is already decided.

Put the checklist in one message to the quotation page. A complete list reduces a second round of questions about size or packing. Catalogue language is unnecessary when the plant specification is already written.
