Fused Silica Particle Size and Mesh: A Practical Guide

Buyers should state a millimetre range or a mesh code. The words sand and powder name a form. They do not state the grading. A size that appears here can be discussed. It is not, by itself, a statement that the size is in stock.

Say millimetres or mesh

Write the size the way your plant specifies it. If you use both a mesh code and a millimetre band, send both and say which one is the acceptance limit. Buyers can read the particle size guide when they set those descriptions out on an enquiry.

Millimetre ranges that can be discussed

Size names that can be discussed include ISO 0-1, 1-3, 3-5, 3-6, 0.1-0.2, 0.2-0.5 and 0.5-1 mm. These labels are size names. They are not a certificate. Buyers can check the size list in the same way: each size is confirmed per order.

Mesh codes, flour and granular material

Mesh examples buyers send include 4×10, 10×20, 20×50, 50×100, 100F, 140F, 200, 200F and 325F. Flour and granular material are forms the buyer must name. Readers can use the sand description to see sand described as one form that still needs a size beside it.

Custom sizes

Custom sizes can be discussed. The quotation confirms the size, the sieve result that will be reported and the packing for that order. A size named in correspondence is not an offer until it appears on the quotation.

Shenzhen Zhixin New Materials Co., Ltd. reviews the millimetre band, the mesh code or the flour designation you name, and confirms it on the quotation.
